Psychotherapist, Author, Speaker
I practice psychotherapy with adults by using a caring approach that involves empirically validated theories. My therapeutic approach consists of helping clients safely explore ideas and life choices that facilitate personal growth and interpersonal success.
As a psychotherapist (Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist), my areas of experience and training include, but are not limited to, somatic psychotherapy, interpersonal neurobiology, insecure attachment, mindfulness, dream analysis, addictions, substance abuse, managing emotions, pain management, sexual compulsion, coming out, internalized homophobia, loneliness, self-esteem, midlife crisis, shame, depression, anxiety, HIV/AIDS, dual diagnosis, grief/loss, embracing creativity, work concerns, personal growth, and codependency.
I have training in contemporary psychoanalysis, Jungian psychology, sand tray therapy, Trauma Resiliency Model, cognitive therapy, mindfulness, Somatic Experiencing (developed by Peter Levine), Somatic Practice (developed by Kathy Kain), and Eastern psychology. I am skilled at goal-oriented, problem focused, and time-efficient therapy.
Working with me can provide an opportunity for inner work which can add more depth and meaning to one’s life. As a counselor, I value having a deeper life purpose as I go through my own journey. I am also available to work with individuals who are looking to know themselves better and add more meaning and vitality to their lives.
In addition to caring and supportive talk therapy, I can provide somatic based psychotherapy which offers techniques to cope and move through many physical and psychological symptoms of stress. The body has a language and wisdom of its own, that once welcomed and worked with, can provide a healing path toward greater health, emotional self-regulation, and a more grounded state.
I am also available to provide case consultation for other licensed psychotherapists who need guidance to give the best possible care to their patients. I have a supportive approach and a strong clinical knowledge.
